The First Barbie Dolls

The Rising generation maybe will not interested with the apperance of the first Barbie dolls. The dolls not yet glamour like now. Barbie Barbie Dolldolls from Mattel is the most popular and the best selling doll launched in 1959. Ruth Handler (1916-2002) the American businesswoman is regarded as the creator of Barbie doll. Inspired by Bild Lilli, a German doll from a popular character appearing in a comic strip drawn by Reinhard Beuthin fBarbie Doll creatoror the newspaper Die Bild-Zeitung, Handler with help from engineer Jack Ryan reworked the design of the Lilli doll. The new doll was given name Barbie dolls, coming from Handler’s daughter Barbara. March 9, 1959 is the official birthday of Barbie dolls, this date is the first time Barbie dolls made its debut on the American Toy Fair. The first Barbie doll were manufactured in Japan wore a black and white zebra striped swimsuit and signature topknot ponytail, and was available as either a blonde or brunette. Barbie dolls directly make market in the world, around 350000 Barbie dolls were sold during the first year of production. Barbie dolls was one of the first toys to have a marketing strategy based extensively on television advertising, which has been copied widely by other toys. It’s estimated that over a billion Barbie dolls have been sold worldwide in over 150 countries, with Mattel claiming that three Barbie dolls are sold every second. And now Barbie became a big branded in the world with the huge range of product such as books, fashion, movie and video games
